As Susan Cain puts it, ‘We’re not anti-social; we’re just differently social”
he is not your answer.
she is not your answer.
sometimes we accept people as distractions
because we do not know how to be happy with ourselves.
but you’ve got to be good with you.
easy with you,
friends with you and at peace with you.
you’ve got to talk things through with yourself,
understand and comfort yourself.
You’ve got to learn how to break through to your own mind,
nurture your own heart and love your body.
cos’ if your waiting for somebody else to love you,
if you’re hoping for someone else to see your beautiful -
if that is what your ‘loving’ is, it will not last.
it cannot last.
love does not lift body and heart out of itself,
love does not erase insecurities.
love goes to sleep when the lights are off,
love has to strive and pay the bills
and love is work.
love will say awful things
it does not always mean,
because love is two hearts-
two bodies and two minds.
if they are both broken,
neither able to breathe alone -
love will suffocate.
you’ve got to breathe easy first alone,
before you can share your tank with another.

“According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate beings condemning them to spend their lives in search for their other halves.”
~Plato’s The Symposium.
How many times will I reblog this? “Always.”

“I tried to paint on canva : fists were paintbrushes & blood was oil.”
This piece is actually my first performance. My aim was to use my body as it really is : a material. So I fused a canva and a piece of waterproof fabric wherein I cut up a circle.
In that way, all I had to do was to hit the canvas with my fists, as hard as possible to paint the circle with my blood. I choose the geometrical form of the circle because in this work, I wanted to show what Man is able to do : From his most vulgar impulses like violence, up to his the most complex reasoning ability.
I did it during five minutes, I hit the canvas 569 times. I recorded it with a camera.
To my mind, that is what differentiates humans from animals : The competence of thinking before acting and to not yield to the most devouring impulses. I think this is why the Human is so tortured : He is without-cease tug between impulses and Reason.
Picture #1 : My fists some hours after the performance
Picture #2 : My fists two weeks later.
Pictures #3,4,5,6 & 7 : Some frame from the video recording I’ve made.
